Patient Participation Group (PPG)

 

The PPG agreed its roles and responsiblities in January 2014 and are summarised below :

 

Aims

The aims of the group shall be to work with the practice to offer the patient perspective on the services that are provided, in order to contribute to the continuous improvement of services.

 

Objectives

The objectives of the group shall be:

  • To monitor service delivery from a patient’s perspective, drawing on information from patients, the public and local networks.
  • To examine any changes and work with the practice to bring about improvements.
  • To provide feedback on patients’ needs, concerns and interests and act as a “critical friend” to the practice, challenging the practice constructively whenever necessary.
  • To foster improved communication between the practice and its patients.
  • To support the practice to encourage patients to take more responsibility for their own health.
  • To provide practical support and help to implement change.

This information will help us to make sure that we try to speak to a representative sample of the patients that are registered at this practice.

 

PPG Meetings were put on hold following the death of Chair Ron Black, they will will resume in 2017.

 

Bill Tyson is acting as Chair of the PPG. Mr Ray Jackson is currectly Acting Deputy Chair.
