Care Quality Commission (CQC)

 
With effect from 1st April 2013 the Health and Social Care Act (2008) requires that all GP practices must be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
 
The Springhead Medical Centre has been registered and our Certificate of Registration is available to view "here".
 
It is the job of the CQC to monitor hospitals, care homes, dentists, home care providers and now GP practices against a set of national standards.

Inspectors from the CQC can visit the practice and inspect us and the services we provide to our patients. As part of that process they will interview staff and patients and look at our policies, records and files.

If the CQC is not happy that we are meeting their standards they can instruct the practice to make changes.

 

We were inspected by the CQC on Tuesday 8th March 2016 and were rated as "Outstanding"
